International recruitment, clearly explained.

BIMED recruits eligible professionals for care and support opportunities in Ireland. Our international pathway is designed to make the sequence clear: selection, contract, accommodation, employment-permit process, immigration steps and arrival.

What happens after contract signing?

  1. Signing a contract does not by itself cause BIMED to submit an employment-permit application immediately.
  2. Where BIMED-led accommodation is required, the applicable accommodation payment/arrangement must be completed first.
  3. Once the required accommodation payment and necessary information are received, BIMED aims to initiate the employment-permit process within 72 working hours.
  4. This 72-working-hour target is BIMED’s internal processing target. It is not a DETE processing deadline.
  5. After submission, the employee must monitor their email and complete any steps DETE requires from them.

Your responsibility after submission

  • Check your email regularly.
  • Respond to DETE requests within the applicable timeframe.
  • Provide truthful, complete and consistent information.
  • Complete personal steps that DETE requires from you.
  • Tell BIMED promptly if you have a genuine technical or process issue.

Accuracy is non-negotiable

False, fraudulent or materially misleading information can result in application cancellation and, where appropriate, information being provided to the relevant authorities. Never fabricate, alter or submit misleading accommodation, identity, qualification or employment documents.
